Terms of Use for College Aid

Effective Date: 09/19/2024

Welcome to College Aid, a website operated by Leveredge Association, a Delaware C-Corp ("College Aid," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website collegeaid.org (the "Site") and the services offered, including our chatbot and scholarship matching engine.

By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use of the Site.

1. Use of the Site

The Site provides two primary features:

  • A chatbot that provides information related to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • A scholarship matching engine that helps users identify potential scholarship opportunities based on their profile.

By using the Site, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • Eligibility: You must be at least 13 years old to use the Site. If you are under 18, you must have your parent’s or guardian’s consent to use the Site.

2. Chatbot Disclaimer

The chatbot available on the Site provides information related to the FAFSA process based on the data available to us. However, the information provided by the chatbot is for informational purposes only, and College Aid does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the information.

  • No Guarantee of Accuracy: While we have made efforts to ensure the information provided by the chatbot is correct, we cannot guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any information. The FAFSA rules, regulations, and guidelines may change, and the chatbot may not reflect the most up-to-date information.
  • User Responsibility: It is the responsibility of the user to verify any information provided by the chatbot before taking any actions, including submitting the FAFSA or making financial or academic decisions.
  • No Liability: College Aid is not liable for any damages, losses, or issues that arise from your reliance on the chatbot's information. You agree to use the information at your own risk.

3. Scholarship Matching Engine Disclaimer

The scholarship matching engine is designed to help users identify scholarship opportunities based on the information they provide during the sign-up process and our internal database. However, the scholarship matching engine comes with the following disclaimers:

  • Accuracy of Scholarship Data: We have worked hard to curate and vet a comprehensive database of scholarships. However, we do not guarantee that all the information is accurate, up-to-date, or complete. Scholarship eligibility criteria, deadlines, and availability may change, and we may not have the latest information.
  • Matching Accuracy: The scholarship matches generated by the engine are based on the information users provide and the eligibility criteria we have inferred from the scholarships in our database. We do not guarantee the accuracy of these matches, nor do we guarantee that users will be eligible for or awarded any scholarships listed.
  • No Guarantee of Scholarship Awards: College Aid does not guarantee that any user will be awarded a scholarship. The decision to award scholarships is solely at the discretion of the scholarship provider, and we have no influence over this process.
  • User Responsibility: It is your responsibility to verify the eligibility criteria and legitimacy of each scholarship before applying. We encourage users to independently research any scholarship before submitting an application.

4. No Warranties

The Site and its services are provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, either express or implied, about the Site or the information, content, services, or products available through the Site. This includes, without limitation, any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that the Site will be error-free, secure, or available at all times, nor do we guarantee that the information provided will be accurate or up to date.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, College Aid, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and service providers will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

This includes, but is not limited to, damages resulting from:

  • Your reliance on any information obtained through the chatbot or scholarship matching engine.
  • Your inability to access or use the Site.
  • Any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in the Site's content.
  • The outcome of any scholarship application process.

6. User Accounts and Responsibilities

When creating an account on the Site, you agree to provide accurate and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information, including your login credentials, and for all activities that occur under your account.

You agree not to use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in any way that might harm College Aid, its users, or third parties.

7. Privacy

Our use of personal information collected through the Site is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Site, you agree to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in our Privacy Policy.
